A senior North Korean official on Sunday denied an alleged arms deal with Russia and warned the United States of unpleasant consequences if it continues to spread such rumours.
Kwon Jong-gun, Director General of US Affairs at North Korea’s Ministry of Foreign Affairs, called the accusations a “serious provocation” and said that North Korea will not tolerate US fabrications aimed at harming North Korea’s position.
The angry statement by North Korea’s official Korean Central News Agency came two days after leader Kim Jong-un’s powerful sister, Kim Yo-jong, issued a statement protesting the United States’ decision to send tanks to Ukraine to help fight. Washington is crossing the “red line” against the Russian invasion.
Earlier this month, the US called North Korea’s first delivery of weapons, satellite images showing North Korea moving between Russia and North Korea on Nov. 18 and Nov. 19 showed North Korea continuing to supply Russia with ammunition.
