Jorginho to Arsenal
This is amazing. The Gunners are set to sign Chelsea’s Jorginho, with Brighton digging in their heels for Moises Caicido.. The 31-year-old Italy international is expected to cost around $12.5 million and is under contract until at least 2024. Mikel Arteta has previously tried to sign the player and Jorginho could cover the remains of Thomas Partey and Mohamed Elne.
Joao Cancello has joined Bayern Munich.
One of the biggest signings of the summer transfer window: Portuguese winger Joao Cancello left Manchester City for Bayern Munich. As first reported by The Athletic. German club Neusser Mazrau is injured and Benjamin Pavard is likely to leave in the summer, so Barcelona have decided to sign him. Included in the deal is a loan until the end of the season with an option to buy. It is not yet clear whether Manchester City will decide to sign another left-back before the end of the transfer window.
Weston McKennie has officially joined Leeds.
It’s official. American midfielder Weston McKennie has joined American side Leeds United on loan until the end of the year. He is coached by American Jesse Marsh and plays with two of his US Men’s National Team teammates in Tyler Adams and Brendan Aaronson. Similar to when he joined Juventus from Schalke, don’t expect this to be a short stint for McKennie. The plan is for him to stay at the club beyond this season, which is the easiest way for such a deal to materialize.
Big moves that can still happen
Manchester United could sign Marcel Sabitzer.
With Christian Eriksen out for at least a few months, the Red Devils need midfield depth and Sabitzer could be available. After his move from RB Leipzig to Bayern Munich, Sabitzer has only managed to save playing time, but he can play midfield on the wing and slot in at right-back when necessary. That’s not bad if United can get over the line, as long as it’s not short-term replacements.
Chelsea are still in the race for Enzo Fernandez.
Enzo Fernandez’s deal is not over yet. Chelsea have resumed negotiations for the Argentine midfielder after talks broke down in early January, with Benefica always demanding the English club pay his €120m release clause. Todd Bohli’s club are now open to paying that fee in several installments, and Benficam will have to decide whether or not to accept this request in the coming hours. Chelsea already had an agreement with the player on a personal contract CBS Insider Fabrizio Romano.
Inter Milan is looking for a replacement for Milan Skriniar
The Milan scrimmage is likely to land at Paris Saint-Germain, the only question is when? The current Inter Milan centre-back looks set to sign a deal with the Italian side in the summer of 2023 and join the French side in June. However, PSG are trying to sign him in January and are currently in talks with the Nerazzurri to try and get a deal done. PSG have offered €10 million, according to Sky Italia, but the Italian side are asking for more than that to leave before the end of the transfer window. The next few hours will be crucial to understand what will happen to Skrinieri, considering that Inter Milan must first find a replacement for him to leave. In this regard, the first name on the list is Atalanta’s defensive leader Demiral.
